Certification agreement

Certification services are provided under a written certification agreement, issued with your quotation. It sets out the scope of certification, audit programme, fees, and the rights and obligations of both parties, including the use of certificates and certification marks.

Client obligations

  • Continue to meet the requirements of the standard and the certification agreement.
  • Give auditors access to people, sites, records and information needed to carry out audits.
  • Tell us promptly about significant changes, such as ownership, scope, sites or legal status.
  • Use certificates and marks only within your certified scope and in line with our rules.
  • Keep records of complaints relevant to the certified system and the actions taken.

Fees

Fees are set out in your quotation. Fees are payable for audits carried out, regardless of the certification outcome, and are never contingent on certification being granted.

Suspension and withdrawal

Certification may be suspended or withdrawn if the certification agreement is breached, for example where serious nonconformities are not resolved, surveillance audits do not take place, or certificates or marks are misused. Decisions can be appealed.

Confidentiality

We treat all information obtained during certification as confidential, except information the client makes publicly available or where disclosure is required by law.
