Our name

Six sides of an assured system

A hexagon is the strongest way to tile a surface: each cell supports its neighbours. Management systems work the same way. Context, leadership, planning, support, operation and evaluation hold each other up, and improvement comes from all six working together.

Our mark shows that structure, with one facet lit and a check that breaks the frame: independent confirmation that the whole system works.

How we work

Principles behind every audit

Impartial by design
We never consult on the systems we certify. Audit and certification decisions are separated, and conflicts of interest are recorded and managed by an impartiality committee.
Auditors who know your sector
Audit teams are selected for competence in your technical area, from construction and manufacturing to software, healthcare and food.
Fixed, transparent quotations
Audit days are calculated from the accreditation rules and shown in your quotation. The price for the full three-year cycle is agreed before you start.
Reports you can act on
Clear findings with objective evidence and plain-English explanations, so your team knows exactly what was seen, what was missing and why it matters.

FAQs

About Hexa: questions

Ask the team
  • Who is Hexa Certifications?

Hexa Certifications Limited is a UK company providing independent, third-party certification of management systems against international standards. We audit organisations of every size, from single-site businesses to multi-site groups, across England, Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland.

  • What is the difference between a certification body and a consultant?

A consultant helps you design and implement your management system. A certification body independently audits that system and decides whether to certify it. The two roles must stay separate, which is why Hexa never provides consultancy to the organisations it certifies.

  • Which standard governs how Hexa operates?

Our certification activities are designed to follow ISO/IEC 17021-1, the international standard setting requirements for bodies that audit and certify management systems, together with the sector-specific parts and IAF mandatory documents that apply to each scheme.

  • How are your auditors selected?

Auditors are assessed for knowledge of the standard, audit skills and technical competence in the sectors they audit. Their performance is monitored through witnessed audits, report reviews and client feedback, and they declare any conflicts of interest before each assignment.

  • Who makes the certification decision?

The decision is made by a qualified reviewer who did not take part in the audit. They review the audit report, evidence and corrective actions before deciding to grant, maintain, renew, suspend or withdraw certification.

  • Do you work with organisations of every size?

Yes. Audit duration is scaled to your size and complexity, so a ten-person firm and a large multi-site group both receive an audit that is proportionate and fair. We explain the calculation in every quotation.

  • How do you protect confidential information?

Everything we learn during an audit is treated as confidential. Auditors and staff sign confidentiality agreements, records are held securely, and information is only disclosed with your consent or where the law requires it.

  • How can I give feedback about Hexa?

We welcome feedback at any time. After each audit we invite comments on the audit team and process, and you can contact us directly. Formal complaints and appeals follow our published process.
